When I look around at the birds in the air, and the stars and moon in place, I am in awe of God’s glory… His splendor, His radiance, the very essence of who He is causes me to stand in awe of my creator and proud to be wonderfully made!
I am thinking of a song one of the mothers would sing in the church I attended as a child entitled: How Great Thou Art. She would sing it with such conviction and power; I didn’t realize then that I too would develop such an appreciation for this old hymn. These are the words that I cherish most of the song:
O Lord, my God! When I in awesome wonder, Consider all the works thy hand has made. I see the stars, I hear the mighty thunder, Thy pow’r throughout the universe displayed. When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation, and take me home, what joy shall fill my heart! Then shall I bow in humble adoration, and there proclaim, my God how great thou art!
This song further declares the awesomeness of God; when we look at nature, we see His beauty, His structure, how He organizes and His overall creativity. God is worthy to receive our honor and praise. In fact, we cannot praise Him enough for what He deserves! We should honor Him in all that we do and declare His glory!
You are worthy O Lord our God, to receive glory and honor and power. For you created everything and by Your will they exist and were created. Revelation 4:11.
Great message!
