During my visit to the grocery store today, I struck up a conversation with the cashier; we began to share about some of the things we are thankful for. In sharing, she said that she had found a wonderful church and considered them to be family, especially since she had just relocated from Michigan. I said to her, “May I ask what brought you to Las Vegas?” In her continuing gleeful spirit, she said “I am now an “empty nester” and I decided to do something different, something “out of the box.” As I would like to consider myself an “out of the box” kinda girl, I decided to follow Janet’s lead. Instead of taking my usual route home from the store, I took a different route. The new way home was more scenic and less traffic; for me less traffic is everything.
Although I didn’t take a huge step as Janet did, I found that a subtle change can make a dramatic difference. Start the conversation today, learn from others – share with others, keep an open mind, be willing to explore, be adventurous, be bold, do something different, try something new!
